In 2020, the company launched a new chapter, Bridgestone 3.0, the third foundation, framing a vision for the future of Bridgestone Group: to provide social and customer value as a sustainable solutions company toward 2050 through its MidLong Term Business Strategy that serves as a roadmap.
As with the original foundation in 1931 (Bridgestone 1.0) and the second foundation (Bridgestone 2.0), which took place in 1988 when Bridgestone merged with Firestone Tire & Rubber Company, 2020 has been a milestone in the company’s history, establishing a new vision to transform the company by placing sustainability at the center of its business.
Bridgestone’s Sustainability Journey rides on its mission, Sustainability Framework, and Global CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Commitment as its principal guideposts. In addition, it has established a medium- and long-term strategy, which through its Business Model and Portfolio, seeks to create value for society, customers, and the company.
